Enigma People Solutions is recruiting for a new role which offers the chance for a recent Graduate (with up to 1 years commercial experience) to be part of a dynamic and diverse Digital Design team working at the forefront of Time of Flight ranging solutions. Our client designs high-speed digital systems incorporating custom analogue blocks and embedded microcontrollers.

This role in Edinburgh works closely with local and international design teams so you will be communicating daily across our client's worldwide site network to find the right solutions. Regular interaction with engineers in other disciplines is essential for product development. You’ll be working alongside engineers from analogue design, digital back end, design for test (DFT), architecture, validation and characterisation, providing exposure to the full product development.

The Role:

The position of Digital Design Engineer requires a motivated individual with strong communication and team-working skills. You should be passionate about ASIC design and the development of new technologies.

The successful candidate will play an important role in the development of new and existing products. This will involve a broad range of tasks covering the entire spectrum of the digital design flow; from specification to implementation, designing and integrating custom IPs within a wider system architecture including analogue components, embedded microcontroller management, testbench simulation, FPGA and ASIC verification.

Specific responsibilities will include HDL and embedded Firmware design and verification at IP and SOC levels, FPGA and ASIC synthesis and final evaluation of the design on silicon.The multi-disciplinary nature of the role provides for a broad working experience and ample opportunity for career progression.

Key Skills and Experience:

- Relevant degree level qualification.

- Solid understanding of digital theory.

- Good digital circuit design skills

- Proficiency in Verilog HDL/System Verilog and C programming language

Additional Skills and Experience:

- Cadence HDL simulation (IUS)

- Xilinx FPGA platforms (ISE)

- Scripting languages (PERL, Python)

- Embedded microcontollers
