Watford is a small council but thinks big and lives up to its motto of being bold. Through our Watford 2020 programme we are embarking on a major change and improvement journey. Now we are looking for a Programme Manager whose skills, experience and enthusiasm will put them at the heart of the Watford 2020 team and help drive the organisation forward to success.

As our Watford 2020 Programme Manager your main responsibilities will include:

-Working under the direction of the Programme Director to champion and manage the successfully deliver of the overall Watford 2020 programme

-Coordinating the programme to ensure project teams are effectively managing milestones and deliver

-Developing appropriate plans, governance arrangements and review processes

-Liaising with colleagues on project budgets, risk, milestones and agreed outcomes

-Highlighting issues to the Programme Director that could impact on the programme’s success

You will need to have a good eye for detail, thrive on a delivering to deadline and enjoy your using your negotiating and influencing skills to get the best from your colleagues and project teams. You will be used to developing plans and take managing project and service reviews in your stride. You will be joining our small but enthusiastic and focused PMO but your Watford 2020 team will encompass the whole organisation.

You might be involved in this work at present or it could be your own ‘bold’ step in taking on a challenge where you could make the best use of your skills and experience.
