Systems Engineer - GIS Mapping and Navigation

Location: Edinburgh

We are currently looking for an experienced GIS Mapping and Navigation Systems Engineer for our rapidly expanding client based in Edinburgh. The successful applicant will be joining an exciting start-up team where you will get the opportunity to develop applications for some of the elite companies in the world. You will work within the mobile and web development team and will be responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the server based GIS mapping and navigation system and its components.

Experience with navigation/road/indoor data/maps is required. Research skills are also essential while experience with location and server backend programming are important. In addition strong programming skills with languages such as C++/JAVA/PHP/Perl etc, and database knowledge in either MySQL or PostgreSQL would be highly beneficial.

Skills requirements:

*Solid experience in GIS system design and development.

*Strong knowledge in Mapping, spatial relations and other GIS concepts.

*Strong programming skills with languages such as C++/JAVA/PHP/Perl etc.

*Good database knowledge in either MySQL or PostgreSQL.
