Job Title: Solutions Consultant

Location: Bagshot

Salary: Up to £70,000

The company is a leading Managed Service provider of IT Consultancy and Infrastructure services, delivering secure and highly-available solutions that solve business problems.

Job Role:

This role has two key purposes. Firstly it is to understand and document the business requirements and desired outcomes of existing or prospective clients and work with internal stakeholders to translate these requirements into a viable solution that comprises of technical components and related services. Key to this purpose is that such solutions can be delivered within the timescales and for the budget agreed with the client. The second purpose is to ensure that the client's expectations are managed throughout any implementation so scope creep is monetised as appropriate and the client is delivered a solution that fully meets their requirements.

Internal solutions consultants are targeted to achieve 25% chargeable utilisation.

Key Accountabilities:

* Work with the appropriate internal stakeholders to qualify any leads via the appropriate methodology to ensure such leads are viable prospects for the company to progress both from a capability and capacity perspective.

* Engage with prospective or exiting clients in conjunction with the appropriate sales representative, understand their business challenge and illicit their requirements which will form the basis of a solution.

* Scope the client's requirements, form and document a solution in conjunction with the Technical Architects and Consultants that fulfils the client's requirements.

* Establish delivery time scales and costs in conjunction with the technical stakeholders and document these as part of the sales order process.

* Contribute to the technical and commercial reviews of all proposals to ensure solutions can be delivered and that the risks and assumptions associated with such proposals have been considered and evaluated effectively.

* Attend client presentations and pitches for work in conjunction with the appropriate sales representatives and act as technical adviser during these meetings to add gravitas to such proposals.

* Brief the implementation team on the client's expectations and on the agreed solution at all project inception meetings to ensure the team fully understands what they are required to deliver.

* Provide scope oversight to any implementation and act as the technical adviser to ensure implementations are seamless and the potential for any scope creep is monetised where appropriate.

* Attend any post implementation reviews assess the performance of the function during projects, identify the lessons learned and take ownership of any work allocated in response to them.

* Plan and prioritise workload to ensure time is being used prudently and profitably remaining accessible to clients throughout any deployments as appropriate.

* Ensure that any actual or potential security risks or incidents are reported to the Security Manager and support efforts to resolve them where required.

* Build and maintain effective and productive working relationships with colleagues, clients and third parties and support the company values.

* Use your experience and expertise to support the Consulting Services team and promote the wider interests of the business beyond your own area of expertise.

* Define and create end user computing offerings for the business to include in client propositions.

Professional / Personal Skills and Experience:

* Has a track record of delivering success in a similar consulting role within an IT or professional services business which operates to ITIL and TOGAF (or similar) principles.

* Has demonstrated an ability to assess the complexity of a client's requirements, determine solutions and work with relevant stakeholders to translate concepts into live deployments.

* Strong business analysis skills and deploys relevant methodologies and processes in the scoping and specification of any proposals..

* Remains effective when managing multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.

* Has a thorough understanding of end user computing and associated technologies including but not limited to desktop virtualisation, Microsoft Office365, Microsoft SCCM. Motivated and is interested in maintaining and developing this.

* Highly skilled relationship builder who establishes credibility quickly and builds trust easily.

* Has effective leadership skills and is able to motivate and hold colleagues to account without line management authority.

* Effective influencer and persuader and is a confident and credible presenter.

* Highly organised, is solution orientated; understands a client's challenges and is able to translate those challenges into clear and coherent solutions.

* Strong client focus balanced with commercial acumen and is able to manage this balance effectively.

* Effective communication skills; both face to face and written, particularly when contributing to bids and proposals for work.

* Will work across the London and Bagshot sites and travel within the South East of England.
