Do you love programming? Have you got experience of building scalable, distributed web applications? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a talented team who care about code quality, test automation and continuous delivery.

Our client is leading a new generation of energy providers with a fresh outlook and a unique way of doing business. They are now looking for a Scala Developer to join their team.

Our client needs to develop, test and release software that scales quickly and reliably. Over the last few years, they’ve built a highly skilled team of Software Engineers that are making a real impact on our client’s business, and shaking up their industry.

Our client’s Developers drive their technology choices and take ownership of the software they create, from their laptop all the way through to production. They’re building a better energy company, and they’re doing it one Git commit at a time.

As a Scala Developer, you’ll use leading-edge technologies to build great software alongside a talented and passionate team.

Specifically, you’ll take ownership of, architect, build and scale parts of our client’s microservice platform. You’ll drive both product and technical improvements and will have plenty of opportunities to collaborate and debate with some of the industry’s best.

They’ve been featured in Wired magazine for their ability to develop software to shatter the status quo. If you’re hungry for a challenge and have a head full of ideas, our client wants to hear from you.

So, do you have what it takes? To be considered, you must have experience of the following:

- Commercial use of Scala

- Building scalable, distributed web applications in Scala

- REST and asynchronous event-driven programming

- CI, and ideally CD

- Driving automation across build, test and release processes

- Functional programming

As a Scala Developer, you must have a collaborative approach and the courage to challenge current thinking. A strong work ethic and excellent problem-solving abilities are key.
