Responsibilities:

- Working closely with the project team, you will test newly developed software features and changes to existing features using automated testing tools if applicable to enhance testing efficiency as well as doing manual testing

- Able to understand what the priorities are and plan work appropriately to meet them.

- Work with the Business Analysts to understand the requirements and ensure deliverables meet business requirements

- Write a Technical Test Strategy where applicable

- Report progress regularly to Project Management and where appropriate, the Software Development Team Lead

- Responsible for choosing the tools used to support QA/testing (including automated QA/testing

- Responsible for developing software and/or scripts for automated QA/testing.

- Responsible for mentoring more junior members of the QA/test team.

Experience:

- Degree level education in an engineering/software/systems related subject or equivalent through relevant training and/or experience

- Good analytical problem-solving skills

- 2+ years experience of automation testing using Selenium, Cucumber, website testing etc. and web technologies, OOP language, preferably Ruby

- Desirable skills in: RESTful APIs, TDD or BDD, performance testing and analysis or source control management

- Able to identify and manage risks and issues

- Passion for software testing and methodology and a ‘Can do’ attitude

- 4+ years experience of software testing and working in software development project teams.
