Our Space Division are recruiting for an ambitious, enthusiastic Software Developer to join the team in Bristol.

Our customers are the UK and European Space institutions e.g. UK Space Agency, European Space Agency, as well as private companies and consortiums. We are ideally positioned as customers, suppliers and partners across the space industry that provide the diversity and opportunity to be involved in the principal Space missions and initiatives in Space exploration.

As a Software Developer you will be involved in all aspects of the software lifecycle and will be responsible for implementation of software components using Java and support for current software solutions. You may also have the opportunity to visit customer sites nationally and around Europe to assist with testing and provide support or training.

As well as opportunities for professional development, you will be joining a very experienced team with solid space knowledge. Regular social events are organised, with a network of sports clubs to help the integration of new starters and multi-faceted development teams.

Essential skills:

* A software engineering background with development experience in Java and/or C++.

* An understanding and appreciation of good software development practices, including the use of source code management systems and project standards/guidelines.

* The candidate must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.

* It is expected that the role will include customer interaction, so the successful candidate will be fluent in English and confident in their role in representing the company.

Desirable skills:

* Understanding of verification and validation

* Linux systems

* Requirements engineering

* Software design and UML

Additional Requirements:

* Eligible to work in the UK

* Security Clearance desirable

* Willing to travel to customer sites, both UK and within Europe
