Software Test Tools Development & Validation Engineer - West Midlands

IC-Resources has an urgent requirement for a permanent Software Test Tools Development & Validation Engineer for our multi national client based in the West Midlands.

The Process in the Loop you will develop will be used by all Testers in the UK. The process will be simulated using LabView as a modeling tool on the PCB to see if integrated circuits work. You will work in different testing topics (focus in Units test for Software and Electronics). The job will be split between Development (Modeling with Lab view etc.) and Testing.

Skill set:

*Educated to degree standard in Electrical/Electronics/Embedded systems.

*3-5 or more of working experience

*Experience of coding in C

*With hardware description language (VHDL, Verilog, etc.)

*With an object-oriented language. (C, Java and or Python)

*Experience in testing automotive systems and software (is this really the case or mechatronic systems). Open for other industries as well

*Knowledge of test methods and tools for high integrity embedded software such as ISO26262 or equivalent safety standards. Testing any safety critical system such as aerospace, Medical, Rail, etc.,

*Understanding of hardware

*Experience with safety relevant systems

*Demonstrate a disciplined and structured approach to problem solving

*Good interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Nice to have:

*Experience with MxVDev, National Instruments test tools or DSPACE test tools.

*Experience with testing mechatronic systems.

*Certified to ISTQB foundation level would be advantageous.

*Capable of working within and coordinating multi-site teams.
