Our client is leading a new generation of energy providers with a fresh outlook and a unique way of doing business. They are now looking for a Junior Scala Developer to join their team.

Our client needs to develop, test and release software that scales quickly and reliably. Over the last few years, they’ve built a highly skilled team of Software Engineers that are making a real impact on their business, and shaking up their industry.

The company’s Developers drive their technology choices and take ownership of the software they create, from their laptop all the way through to production. Our client is building a better energy company, and they’re doing it one Git commit at a time.

As a Junior Scala Developer, you’ll use leading-edge technologies to build great software alongside a talented and passionate team.

Specifically, you’ll take ownership of, architect, build and scale parts of our client’s microservice platform. You’ll drive both product and technical improvements and will have plenty of opportunities to collaborate and debate with some of the industry’s best.

Our client has been featured in Wired magazine for their ability to develop software to shatter the status quo. If you’re hungry for a challenge and have a head full of ideas, our client wants to hear from you.

So, do you have what it takes? To be considered, you must have:

- Experience of building scalable, distributed web applications in any programming language, and an appetite to learn Scala

- Experience with REST and asynchronous event driven programming

- Previous experience of CI, and ideally CD

- Experience of driving automation across build, test and release processes

- An understanding of functional programming

As a Junior Scala Developer, you must have a collaborative approach and the courage to challenge current thinking. A strong work ethic and excellent problem-solving abilities are key.
