Head of Development / Development Manager (12 months+ contract)

A market leading and international consultancy has an exciting, challenging technical opportunity for a business driven and tech savvy Head of Development. The business is seeking an experienced Development Manager to create a technical roadmap and business strategy on how to implement and integrate plans for enhanced digital products and digital services. The business has grown its Digital/R&D team to 40 strong, providing SaaS application designs and development to their strong customer base.

The Head of Development will come from a strong development background and have a technical vision on how to design and implement a suitable structure for the software development, testing and infrastructure teams, whilst delivering high quality SaaS products. This role will suit a development manager who has managed and/or worked alongside a product management team in a software based business.

You must be able to harness, lead and coach technology teams to ensure maximum effectiveness in delivery of your technology vision for Digital services and keeping on top of emerging technologies and modern day development practices.

We are looking for a Head of Development who has a strong software engineering background with proven experience in web technologies, cloud services and /or scalable architectures. You will be a technology driven Development Manager who has experience of working alongside product management teams. And finally experience of Agile/Scrum with modern development and deployment techniques, such as TDD, continuous integration, DevOps, etc

The software development team is based Southampton and HQ in Covent Garden, London. Therefore, there will be a split between locations with an initial weight towards Southampton.
