SC/DV SAM/Licensing Manager

My Government client require a Software License Manager/SAM to ensure compliance and integrity of Software Licensing across multiple service lines and technologies. The individual must have a risk focused, systematic approach to managing software licenses, strong stakeholder management skills, act as a passionate advocate throughout the organisation and have a track record of delivering tangible benefits of robust License Management.

The role requires an individual with strong analytical and business process skills also being service excellence orientated with proven experience of driving consistency, quality, accountability and efficiency in a support environment.

A confident and decisive communicator who works well under pressure and is capable of delivering accurate information (in an appropriate context and at a desired level of detail) to customers, suppliers, service delivery managers, operational staff, senior leadership team and other Government Departmental stakeholders.

Responsibility for ensuring/promoting a Continual Service Improvement culture throughout identifying cost and efficiency savings, whilst maintaining the operational effectiveness and integrity of the technologies and services provided.

This role reports to the Head of Service Delivery.

Essential:

*Strong understanding of major license models including Microsoft and VMware.

*Management of subscription licensing models including MS Select, Enterprise and Service Partner Licensing Agreements

*Ability to research, interpret and communicate product use rights and licensing terms & conditions

*Use of License and Service Management toolsets i.e System Center Suite

*Ability to act as SAM advocate and influencer at all levels of the IT Organisation

*Experience responding to and managing software compliance reviews / audits by major vendors such as Microsoft

*Experience implementing the SAM tools

*Experience defining and implementing SAM Strategies along with Policies and Processes

*Good level of technical understanding

*Track record for driving consolidation of licenses and cost reductions achieving to performance and delivery targets

*Ability to foster and maintain supplier/customer relationships and exceed expectations

*Ability to anticipate future trends, priorities and requirements

*Effective communication skills at all levels

*Critical thinking and problem solving skills

*Strong analytical skills. Ability to create, interpret and present data effectively

Desirable:

*Experience managing SaaS license models

*Experience managing licensing in IaaS platforms i.e. Cloud Technologies and Microsoft Cloud Partner Agreement

*Knowledge of ITIL v3 and ISO/IEC 20000 with a track record of operating and managing within an IT Service Management environment

*Knowledge of project management principles and practices

*Business management training and experience - financial, inventory management

*Previous government experience

*Technical qualifications
