The Team

The position is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team working with leading edge technology in the growing image sensor market. The role is within the Application Development & Support team, forming part of the Imaging R&D team in Edinburgh which includes all disciplines required in the design and support of full custom image and photonic sensor systems. In addition to the challenges of supporting complex imaging products, application engineers are exposed to many disciplines within the product cycle development.

The Role

The position of Applications Engineer, within the Imaging Application Development & Support team, requires the candidate to have a strong background in the validation of semiconductor products, including analysis and solving customer problems. You will be involved in the system level verification and support of Imaging systems from promotion through to customer platform integration and acceptance into mass production. You will work with various teams to provide the best possible solutions from our imaging devices. The candidate must be team focused. Collaboration with colleagues locally and in the wider design/engineering community across the Imaging Division is a key factor for success. Strong communication skills are mandatory.

Skills & Experience

Act as the application lead of the product to coordinate the answers to customers.

Evaluate & anticipate resource requirements.

Consolidate the support activities (doc, validation, training, board design)

Attend the core team weeklies and cascade actions and priorities to the team

Ensure the correct level of communication and exchange of data.

Consolidate status of the product support activities & weekly reporting to core team

Customer Support of Electronic Systems

Ideally Optic and lighting sciences skills

Use of Lab Test Equipment, Darkroom

Python and/or C++

Writing Technical Documents
