Senior Software Developer - Birmingham, West Midlands

C/C++, MFC, InstallSheild, C#, Agile

£40,000 - £45,000 + Excellent Benefits + Remote Working

I'm currently working with my leading client based in the West Midlands to recruit for a Senior Software Developer to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Role:

As a Software Developer you will be part of a team responsible for the design and development of simulation based software products. In this position, you will be required to follow an agile development process ensuring that development cycles are completed in a timely manner with a strong emphasis on quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

* Develop and enhance simulation products

* Responsible for product installations using InstallShield

* Assist the support desk with technical queries

* Provide accurate estimations for stories (features), break stories into tasks, write tests and write code to implement features

* Assist in project planning phases

* Automate any tedious development process

* Provide quality software documentation

Skills required

* Self-motivated with a positive attitude, who is comfortable interacting with a wide variety of fellow employees and customers

* Team player working and communicating effectively with other development team members as well the wider company team

* Good communications skills

* A commitment to quality and delivery timescales

* Solid C/C++ programming

* Visual C++/MFC essential and COM/ATL (BCGSoft useful)

* InstallShield experience a must

* Strong on development process, Agile (XP/SCRUM)

* Understanding of 3D systems

* Other: Java/.NET (C#/VB.NET) SQL Server

* Experience with automated test tools JUnit/NUnit/MSTest

* Numerate, scientific, computing or business University degree

* Min 5 years in a commercial software environment
