Job Title: Head of Geomechanical Consultancy Department

Location: Swansea

Salary: Negotiable, Dependent on Experience

Established in 1985, the company is a specialised business and industry leader in the provision of geomechanical consultancy services to the oil and gas industry. Recognised as one of the oldest names in geomechanical modelling, most notably in hydraulic fracture simulation and more recently in unconventional modelling technology, the company's experienced team of Engineers utilises their flagship modelling software to advise an international client base on the full range of subsurface issues in the planning and execution stages of oil and gas development. The company is looking for a talented and driven professional to join their Head Office in Wales, to lead a team of geomechanics staff and work closely with the internationally recognised Geomechanics Engineer colleagues in the company's Houston and Abu Dhabi offices; Uno Mutlu, and Tony Addis.

Key Responsibilities:

* Strategically plan and manage all geomechanics consultancy projects

* Leadership of Consultancy Department, including training and advice for less experienced colleagues.

* Prepare presentations, technical documents and other items to assist with internal and external training courses.

* A sound understanding of geomechanics principals, such as wellbore stability and constitutive material behaviour, is required. Additionally, familiarity of geomechanics software is beneficial.

* Visit global client base for the purposes of Business Development.

* Define and steer research areas for Consultancy, identifying future research areas in line with priorities and business needs.

The Candidate:

* Educated to Masters or PhD level

* Significant relevant professional experience

* Familiar with geomechanical software tools

* Good understanding of related and contributing disciplines

* Strong leadership and management skills
