Job Title: Software Developer C++

Location: Swansea

Salary: £25,000 to £30,000

The company is an independent high end technology business established in 1985 to provide leading edge numerical based simulation systems, coupled with their industrial applications. They have proudly developed one of the most advanced technical finite element software codes with capabilities ranging from glass design software to numerous applications for the oil & gas industry.

They are an approachable, experienced team of 30 colleagues, geared towards working to their customers' goals and with an increasing, global portfolio; they are seeking a Software Developer with a passion for technology to join them at the Swansea Head Office.

You will be part of a small, informal team supported in learning new skills and reporting to like-minded, dedicated and experienced senior developers. The role would suit developers who have a particular aptitude for C/C++ and Qt development.

Job Role:

As part of a small development team, tasks are varied and interesting. Example projects could include:

* Assisting in the development of GUIs for new products

* Designing algorithms for efficient result processing

* Development of geometry creation and manipulation tools;

* Adding capabilities to the FEM/DEM analysis code.

You will be involved in full life cycle development of products with real-time 2D and 3D graphics, which leverage a highly advanced numerical analysis code.

The Candidate:

Essential Skills

* Demonstrable experience (preferably commercial) in C and/or C++

Desirable Skills

* Working knowledge of Qt

* Object-oriented programming/design

* Cross-platform development (windows/Linux)

* Graphics Development (OpenGL/DirectX)

* Some knowledge of and enthusiasm for the following fields (or similar) - engineering, software, simulation, 3D graphics

* Good understanding of memory management in non-garbage collected environments

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or better in Science/Engineering/Maths/Computer Science; or

* Commercial experience of 1-2 years+ C/C++ in a relevant field
