Head of AI / Development Manager - Edinburgh

The Company

Spring Technology's client is an award winning Edinburgh based start-up that have been going through an exciting period of growth. As a result of this we're searching for a Head of AI / Development Manager who will report into the CTO. Working in a collaborative and innovative environment you'll be leading a talented team who create a leading cyber security product that focuses on user behaviour analytics. After significant investment and a period of success they're looking for someone who can help lead this team while being hands on with development and architecture. The Role: Head of AI / Development Manager

On a daily basis you'll be managing an agile development team and creating solutions to challenging technical problems. You'll ensure that the team are on track with the product roadmap and provide regular updates to the CTO. You'll be granted a high degree of autonomy within this customer focused team. Hands-on you'll work with a range of technologies and be instrumental in the companies future success.

Responsibilities include:

- Leading AI development and product releases

-Ensuring the development team are meeting key delivery milestones

-Updating the CTO on progress

-Writing code as part of the software development team

-Architecting big data solutions

-Working with our big data sets

-Contributing to the product roadmap

Your skills and experience will include:

-Experience leading and managing in an Agile environment

-Experience building high performance systems of scale

-Experience scheduling, estimating and managing releases

-Experience working within a customer focused product environment

-Great software development skills (ideally in C#/C++/C)

-Experience working with Apache Spark or similar

An excellent communicator you'll be a confident and pragmatic decision maker. You'll lead your team with a coaching mentality and while managing and scheduling work you'll also enjoy being hands on while helping to solve some of the toughest technical challenges. An amazing problem solver with an analytical mind, you'll also be comfortable working closely with customers.
