Programme Manager (Aerospace)

PERMANENT, FULL-TIME, HAMPSHIRE, SALARY COMPETITIVE & DOE

The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Programme Manager to join a leading Global Defence Technology & Security Organisation based in Hampshire, within their Research Integrated Delivery Team (IDT).

Responsibilities

This role is responsible for developing, leading and effectively communicating delivery performance and driving improvement in IDT delivery performance.

* Application of appropriate project governance to ensure compliance with legal and corporate requirements

* Delivery of a portfolio of projects in accordance with company governance

* Leadership of the delivery team promoting a "one-team" ethos, ensuring clarity of approach and understanding of inter-dependencies for all delivery team members

* Delivery of portfolio to (or ahead of) contracted schedule and cash flow

* Delivery of allocated portfolio within Authorised Base Cost

* Communication of portfolio progress (time, cost & quality) to internal stakeholders, ensuring that risks are escalated through the appropriate channels as soon as possible

* Management of programme risks for currently contracted scope; including maintenance of up-to-date Risk Register, in approved format

* Maintenance of up-to-date, fully resourced plans covering full contracted scope (published in accordance with company corporate requirements)

* Control of programme changes, ensuring any change to scope (including due to missed dependencies) are formalised through the contract change process and appropriately authorised

* Review and approval of up-to-date Project Management Plan (PMP) and risk register in approved format for all projects in portfolio

* Approval of project costs in line with the Delegations Matrix

* Preparation of materials to support, and closure of actions arising from, reviews (both monthly progress reviews & Lifecycle reviews)

* Preparation of proposals for follow-on work

* Achievement of customer satisfaction targets

Requirements

* IPMA Level B or equivalent qualification or equivalent demonstrable Programme Management experience

* The highest level of communication skills and experience liaising with a variety of teams and staff at different levels of seniority

* Experience working with a complexity of projects within an environment of 'uncertainty'

* Experience working within a complex matrix organisation

* Experience within the Air Domain or within an organisation with its own internal R&D teams

Security Clearance

The successful candidate will have to undergo Ministry of Defence security clearance prior to their start date.
