The role and its responsibilities

Based at our site in Sassenheim, the Netherlands, you perform a wide range of activities around your core objective of converting customer demands into colorimetric and/or software requirements, and proposing software solutions in accordance with standard software architecture platforms.

Thus you lead the design, development and deployment of experimental software components/tools, working closely with color technologists/researchers and assuming responsibility for training, roll out, hand-over and maintenance. This includes creating user manuals and training material(s) for various user levels and facilitates knowledge sharing sessions.

At all times you collect and take into account user needs, translating them into IT requirements and sustainable IT solutions. In doing so you leverage technical and non-technical skills and work together with business end-users, analysts and developers to ensure that the implemented solutions meet business requirements.

Further, you ensure that color engines, building blocks and/or software applications are developed and deployed via the use of high quality IT requirement analyses, high quality coding standards and effective and high quality IT testing.

In addition you contribute to the formulation of portfolio(s)/road map(s) with respect to color IT software solutions and/or software development to achieve global BA PC Color RD&I objectives and actively contributes to KPI, Quality Improvement and Review meetings.

Further, you act as (sub)project leader in medium size Color IT or Color Research projects in the BA PC color domain, and contribute to the screening of patents and filing of new patents.

Needless to say, you monitor and stay up to date with internal and external developments in colorimetry, color instruments, digital algorithms and software technologies. You also ensure the transfer and retention of colorimetric knowledge within the Building Block Team.

Candidate profile

To apply for this position you must possess the following attributes:

University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Chemistry, (Chemical) Engineering or Physics;

IT professional with at least 5 years of experience in collecting and managing requirements, test management, application lifecycle management, IT system architecture, IT security, technology platforms and design, engineering, developing pilot products, and application development;

At least 8 years of experience in a multinational organization and a track record in building cross-functional cross-cultural bridges;

Certified Microsoft C# developer and an affinity with database architecture and structure and creating queries (MS Access, MS SQL);

Expert in the use of software development and monitoring tools such as MS Team Foundation Server, Test Manager & VisualStudio UnitTesting;

Strong communication skills including fluent written and spoken English.

You should also be authorized to work in the EU, or possess a valid EU work permit.
