About the role

Throughout 2017 and 2018, we are planning a number of transformative IT projects, including a large-scale network configuration and refresh, the migration of Exchange to 0365 and an upgrade of core elements of the Microsoft technology stack. You will help make sure these projects are successfully delivered by taking responsibility for their direction, coordination, implementation and control.

This will mean doing everything from defining project scope to managing budgets and resource allocation to evaluating results. Another key part of the role will be to develop our project & programme management capability more generally, particularly in terms of improving project processes and documentation.

About you

To succeed, you will need to be someone who is not only highly skilled in IT project delivery but also has a proven track record of developing project management capabilities. Specific areas of experience we are looking for include programme, people, risk and change management. The ability to make decisions under pressure is important, as are critical thinking and problem-solving skills. You’ll also need to be an effective and adaptable communicator, who can negotiate with and influence people in all kinds of different contexts.

About us

One of the UK’s biggest charities, we maintain 2,000 miles of historic canals, rivers, docks and reservoirs, along with museums, archives and the country’s third largest collection of protected historic buildings - preserving them for future generations. We believe living waterways transform places and enrich lives. Achieving this vision will be a fascinating challenge. Come and be part of it.

To apply

We aim to represent the diverse communities we are part of and welcome applicants from across all sectors of the community. We strongly believe that a diverse workforce brings with it a diversity of ideas, thinking and ways of working which enhances what we do.
