Technical Architect - 6 Month Contract Role - Edinburgh

The Client

Spring Technology's client is one of the leading organisations that consults on Technical Architecture throughout Scotland. They are looking to hire two technical architects that can provide services to their clients at the top level and retain their reputation as a centre of excellence for digital consulting.

The Role

The Technical Architect will play a pivotal role in the delivery of all technical consulting services provided to clients across the sector by giving advice on technical architecture, solution development, integration, operations and maintenance under a continuous delivery approach and provide infrastructure management.

Responsibilities

*Requirement gathering with clients to understand and identify the scope of technical needs. Use the gathered information to propose and design appropriate solutions and relevant technical architectures.

*Supports the Lead architects to drive project objectives from initiation to completion.

*Act as the technical authority in information gathering and scene setting with stakeholders and managers.

*Drive the development of each client's digital and ICT strategies.

*Undertake in depth analysis to gain an understanding of solution and technology options to recommend the most appropriate approach across different environments and operating models.

*Acts as the immediate point of contact to clients on best practice use of technology.

*Create and embed an innovative culture of continuous delivery and improvement

*Provide guidance on infrastructure management including concerns such as system monitoring, capacity planning, disaster recovery and failure diagnosis.

*Collaborate with colleagues in cyber defence and external security suppliers to ensure that client's solution/technical architectures are robust, scalable, open and secure.

*Review technical proposals from external suppliers and make recommendations

*Work in an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment and understand and promote agile methods with clients where appropriate.
