Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron science facility. Located on the Harwell Science & Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire, a 20 minute drive south of Oxford in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Diamond Light Source conducts world-class research in virtually all fields of science and offers rewarding career opportunities covering both technical and scientific disciplines.

Over 4,000 scientists and technologists visit or interact remotely with Diamond during a year to perform their research; this necessitates the use of advanced web based software applications to administer and schedule their work thus allowing them to concentrate on the science. The role of the candidate is to work within the User Administration System (UAS) team on the full lifecycle development of the software needed to support these applications and also to implement new functionality to support ever increasing demands of the science involved. In addition there may be challenging opportunities to contribute to other related web developments including mobile technology.

Resolve reported faults in the system and communicate with testers

Document all work, including instructions on how to build and deploy software
