The successful QA test engineer, will join the messaging QA PAC team for this telecoms company, and work closely with the QA manager and test architect to develop automated test scenarios, and performance tests. If successful, you will work closely with the software leadership team, and provide new ideas and technologies to the project. As with many leading internet providers, the client is using Cassandra No-SQL technology, and providing solutions to the world's leading telco companies, it is important that the QA test engineer brought in, has the ability to work on large scale systems.
The QA test engineer will be expected to work alongside both the QA manager and the test architect to develop automated test scenarios, test cases and environments for performance testing new products. The QA will also be expected to gather performance metrics in order to report the progress of the tests, and to conduct diagnostics to find the cause of problems.
The skills/experience which are essential for the QA test engineer role are:
* Performance/scale/reliability resting of messaging services
* Experience performance/load testing in large scale environments
* Use of performance tools such as Jmeter or Borland SilkPerformer
* Performance tuning experience
* Desiging/creating performance suites/traffic models
* Unix/Linux admin experience
* Scripting experience with languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, Python or Perl
Other skills desired for the QA test engineer are:
* Experience designing performance environments
* Web services API performance testing
* Experience with monitoring tools
* Experience with Jira agile
Soft skills:
* Ability to work autonomously or in a team
* Good communication skills both written and verbal
* Analytical thinker with problem solving skills
* Fast learner who is willing to take initiative
