SQL & Business Intelligence Developer

£40,000 - £55,000 Plus Excellent Benefits

Incorporated in 1954, our client is a well-established provider of quality banking solutions, including a range of lending solutions and savings products. They are now looking for a number of SQL & Business Intelligence Developers to join their expanding IT Development Team.

As a SQL & Business Intelligence Developer, you’ll develop, administer and support the SQL servers that produce daily Management Information (MI) used throughout the business.

In this important role, you will develop Business Intelligence solutions and business models to assist and support the growth of the company. Specifically, your duties will involve:

- Ensuring the availability of SQL and SAS servers and providing third line support

- Designing business continuity plans for the SQL and SAS servers

- Testing and validating changes and new developments

- Providing SQL database operational support to technical users

- Advising colleagues on the best way to provide MI

- Developing new information systems

- Producing cash flow forecasts

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need:

- Financial services experience, including financial analysis, reporting, modelling and forecasting

- Experience of backups, restores, recovery models and incident management

- In-depth knowledge of SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2012, 2014 and/or 2016

- Knowledge of the full software lifecycle, including requirements, design, development, testing and implementation

- An understanding of indexes, index management and statistics

- Knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012, data warehouses and data marts

- An understanding of credit KPIs, roll rates and bad debt rates

- Knowledge of fixed-term lending products and characteristics

- The ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code and design stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes and constraints

The Ideal SQL & Business Intelligence Developer will also have knowledge of Cognos BI tools.
