Job Title: IT Project Manager

Location: The Strand, London

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 plus benefits dependent on experience

Position: Full Time, Permanent

The company is now looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for the management and delivery of projects in a coordinated manner, involving proactive interventions and decision-making to ensure projects stay on track within agreed cost, time, specification, and quality standards.

The role will actively manage the commercials, risks and opportunities of the development and delivery of the projects. The role will be to liaise with business managers/sponsors to understand and help capture business requirements and then evaluate the best options/methods to deliver the solution.

This role involves the effective management of issues, priorities, budgets, exceptions, communications and project team members. Ensure all project deliverables are achieved using best practices and to customer satisfaction. The role will act as an escalation point for the project team and business representatives.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage projects by following the defined and agreed project management processes, tools and governance structures. Ensure appropriate sign off and approvals are obtained for each gateway within a project stage.

* Has a proven track record of successful leadership in project management.

* Manage multiple and quite often complex projects and dependencies. Balances priorities and resources across multi-disciplined teams to achieve required deliverables.

* Work with Project Sponsors and Business stakeholders to understand and document project objectives and scope by completing a Project Initiation Document to ensure all deliverables are agreed and communicated upfront.

* Develop a sound knowledge of and the effect of the requested changes.

* Work with stakeholders to understand current business processes and co-ordinate business requirements to be captured and documented. Ensure key deliverables are set against customers' expectations.

* Produce regular project reports showing progress against plan, status, resource requirements, issues, risks and cost.

* Work with the Operations team to understand and document the IT infrastructure & technical requirements and ensure security, capacity and DR planning are considered as part of the project.

* Work with the Risk and Security teams to translate technical solutions into clear architecture diagrams and complete risks assessment documentation.

* Work with and manage third party suppliers to deliver the business requirements and appropriate solution to meet customer's expectations. Manage supplier relationships and track performance against cost and contract.

* Work closely with all teams within IT to provide an effective handover to support and BAU activities using ITIL processes. Ensure appropriate adherence to all change control activities for project implementation.

* Develop project plans (including stage plans) to understand the effort and resource requirements.

* Develop User Acceptance test plans and strategy to ensure solutions meet the customers' expectations.

* Able to manage situations of rapidly changing and conflicting priorities (internal/external).

* Is able successfully to manage tightly time-boxed projects with critical delivery dates in a manner that leads to quality deliverables.

* Has the proven ability to identify new issues and opportunities early and to re-focus or realign.

* Capable of working in teams functioning at a variety of levels.

* Ensure budgets are created, tracked, forecast and managed properly throughout the project / programme lifecycle.

Key Requirements:

Technical Skills/Experience:

* Demonstrates significant experience in both infrastructure and business led projects - understands technical issues and translate these to business stakeholders.

* Proven successful project delivery on multiple and complex projects.

* PRINCE2 practitioner qualified and other industry best practice PM qualifications.

* Proficient in Microsoft Project and other PM tools.

* Builds balanced, cohesive and committed teams that achieve their goals.

* Demonstrates technical competence in all areas of PM lifecycle and methodologies.

* Experienced in managing supplier relationships.

* ITIL Foundation.
