Embedded Linux Kernel Engineer - Software Specialist - Poole - £60k

My client is an international Software Specialist providing time and attendance systems for a host of clients globally. They seeking to expand their software development team and bring on board a Embedded Linux Kernel Engineer who has a keen interest to progress with their career. The successful candidate will be part an extremely talented team of Software Developers.

For this fantastic position my client is looking for experience in the following skills:

* A Bachelor's Degree, or education and training normally associated with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.

* Experience in embedded software engineering.

* Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets. Arm based processor knowledge for both 16 and 32 bit architectures including support peripherals such as; DDR2/DDR3 memory, LCD's with resistive and capacitive touch screens, SD cards, etc.

* Solid programming experience in C / C++. Java, JavaScript, and Python are also used.

* Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems including Linux, Android, and Windows embedded.

* Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review.

* Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces such as Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Cellular, I2C and SPI, USB device management, hardware subsystems, and device driver development.

* Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components, as well as the use of test equipment such as logic analyzers and oscilloscopes.
