Geospatial Data Research Engineer
Location: Edinburgh
IC Resources are currently looking for an experienced Geospatial Data Research Engineer to join their growing start-up team in the exciting positioning and navigation technology field with prospects of developing applications/services for some of the elite companies in the world. Working as a key member of our R&D team you will be responsible for the design, experiment and prototyping of crowd driven maps and navigation system and its components.
To be considered for this position you must have:
*Strong knowledge in routing data, spatial relations and other map related concepts. Solid experience in database schematic design for GIS spatial features.
*Experience in designing, developing and testing related algorithms through simulation and in prototyping.
*Previous knowledge of Geospatial data analysis and manipulation techniques.
*Experience with the most recent positioning and navigation applied research, GIS and statistical analysis.
*Knowledge of Global common Geospatial data sets.
*Hands on experience with QGIS stack or similar tools.
Desirable Technical Skills:
*Knowledge of Geospatial modelling and correlation techniques.
*Reasonably strong coding, preferably Java, and fluent SQL.
*Some knowledge of spark, Hadoop Geospatial analytics.
*Previous experience on visualisation and data optimization procedures,
*Experience deploying or administering GIS infrastructure.
*Strong communication skills
