We have a new position available for a Junior Web Designer to join or eCommerce Team at Pavers Head Office in York. This role will ideally suit a person with the ability to investigate, research and solve problems with the drive to achieve results through persistence and tenacity.
We have recently launched a brand new fully responsive website on the Shopify (enterprise) platform and are looking for a strong, self-reliant and organised individual to help us keep moving forward. You will need to have a passion for web development along with some commercial experience and be competent in XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTML5, JSON and SEO.
You will work closely with our eCommerce Manager and IT Development Manager to build a class leading user experience for our customers.
Salary: up to £25,000 plus bonus and benefits

Role Responsibilities:
Plan, Develop, Test and Document design implementations as part of a team
Interpreting graphic visual or interaction designs in HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Creating visually appealing web pages or interfaces
Creating, editing or modifying templates for a CMS or web development framework
Programming interaction with JavaScript and/or a library such as jQuery, YUI or Prototype.
Testing cross-browser, cross-platform and cross-device compatibility
Testing for compliance to specified standards such as accessibility standards
Conducting observational user testing, or reviewing designs against usability heuristics.
Essential Requirements:
Commercial experience with web development
Expert Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
Experience with JSON and AJAX
Experience and knowledge of mobile development and optimisation including responsive methodology
Proficient with a CSS Pre-processor such as SASS
Experience with testing and performance optimisation
Desirable Requirements:
Experience with CMS customisation - theme customisation & development
Experience of API utilisation to request and transform data
Experience working within an agile framework using tools e.g. JIRA
Experience using version control systems e.g. Git
Experience with Adobe Photoshop
