Job Description

A key and integral member of the Transmission Controls and Calibration team, responsible for the delivery of highly innovative challenging programmes from prototyping through to volume production. Will involve customer interaction, requirements capture, design, development, test and calibration of software. In particular this role will be focused on the development of the diagnostics strategies, including documentation, calibration and validation.

Key Responsibilities

* Liaising directly with the customer (internal or external) to understand their requirements

* Study of the system to understand the need in term of diagnostics strategies

* Contribution to the software development, test and calibration plans, in particular on the diagnostics management area

* Setting task milestones and supporting the team in the delivery of projects

* Software development (C, MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder, Target Link), testing (MiL, SiL and HiL)

Personal Attributes

Must have:

* Degree qualified (Science or Engineering) with a minimum of 5 years' industry experience

* Software development experience in an automotive environment

* Experience in development of diagnostics strategies: support of DFMEA, diagnostics (DFC) list, diagnostics algorithm, calibration and validation, Diagnostic manager specification. Understanding of the requirements from After-sales, OBD, safety

* Experience of AUTOSAR structure

* An ability to work under pressure within tight timescales, independently as well as within multi-disciplinary teams

* Familiarity of the software development V-Cycle

* Good working knowledge of the tools - MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder, Target Link

Desirable:

* Experience of powertrain (transmission, engine, e-machines) controls development; application, integration and/or calibration would be particularly valuable

* A track record of product development within the automotive industry, ideally from prototyping to volume production

* A degree of flexibility and a willingness to travel abroad (for short periods of time)

* Experience of test rig development as well as in-vehicle experience (commissioning, problem solving, calibration)

* Familiarity with the tools - DOORS, Polarion, Redmine, MANTIS, SVN, CANape, INCA, CANalyzer

* Understanding of system engineering process and requirements management tools (DOORS and others)
