Job Title: Junior Tester

Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire

Salary: £21,000 - £27,000 per annum (depending on experience) + excellent benefits and superb working environment

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

The Role:

Our Client is an established technology company based in Hemel Hempstead, they provide some of the largest businesses in the UK and internationally with customer service and payment solutions using speech, SMS, web and mobile apps. Their solutions help organisations meet the challenges of engaging customers online and over the phone. Their software removes the pressure of inbound calls on contact centres.

They've created a collaborative working environment where you will find a casual dress code and flexible working hours. Quality Assurance operates in cross-departmental teams working on both new and in-life web, app & voice based systems.

A new opportunity has arisen for someone who would like to further their career in software testing. You will work closely with their development, account management and project management teams to help them deliver high quality software. You will be testing their voice (IVR), web and mobile applications to ensure they operate as designed with minimal defects.

They are looking for someone who is innately curious about technology, thinks outside the box and brainstorms edge case scenarios to test the boundaries of their systems to expose issues. Methodical in your approach, you document your steps in test plans as well as being comfortable following test plans created by others. You will have a true desire to advance your own technical ability and skills in software quality assurance - which they will support and enhance by providing training.

Responsibilities:

* Build strong working relationships with developers, account & project managers and IT

* Work with internal teams to identify software defects and formulate test plans

* Become familiar with our product portfolio, technology stack & deployment process

* Keep internal customers & QA manager informed of your progress & when you need support

* Become competent with Python, Selenium, SQL and Github

Essential:

* Experience working with Linux

* Knowledge of telephony systems

Desirable (not required):

* Experience of raising issues in JIRA or Github

* Knowledge of Python, Selenium, HTML, CSS or JavaScript

* Familiarity with SQL and/or Linux beneficial

* Computing A Level / HND / Degree qualification
