One of the UK's fastest growing Telematics organisations are looking for a MySQL/ PHP Developer to join their rapidly expanding team near Birmingham to work directly with Product Owners and Project Managers to develop their online brand and website.

MYSQL / PHP developer role

To deliver a number of enhancements to the online customer journey and additional capabilities required by the Operations team. Initially, these may include:

1 - Develop company software to enable customers to make additional purchases online

2 - Improve customer dashboards by incorporating 3rd party data

3 - Under the direction of the Product and Pricing Director, make improvements to customer facing and internal systems to make the website or dashboard the first port of call for customer activities.

4 - Develop new functionality as directed.

The MySQL/ PHP developer will work with the Product and Pricing Director, Strategic Project Manager and the Operations Director to define the requirements and detail necessary to commence development work. Also work with telecoms and IT providers.

To manage the delivery of these changes to the live system whilst ensuring service continuity and protection of live customer facing My Policy services.

MYSQL / PHP Tasks:

1 - Manage our interactions with the software house (SSP) whilst maintaining and developing the company's bespoke internal systems (on SQL and PHP)

2 - To provide technical advice and IT support to telematics, wholesale and other departments

3 - Analyse data and produce management reports

4 - Provide workstation support across the business and upskill the team, resolve user queries

5 - Maintain and expand functionality of existing IT systems.

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of My SQL

- Fluent PHP and strong in Excel

- Experience of planning and implementing testing of new solutions to minimise risk of failure.

Desirable:

- Graduate

- Working knowledge of Workstation support (hardware and software)

- Strong Maths

- Some insurance knowledge
