My Key client based in Central Birmingham are looking for Senior Java Developers (Junior/Mid Level roles available too) to join the rapidly growing team full-stack development team! You will be applying lean principles to develop new end-to-end features for their users, focusing on quality and pernicity. You will see your code running LIVE within your first month in the business and more often than not, in your first week!

You will be a crucial part of a small agile engineering team developing AWS closed based microservices using the principles of domain-driven design and continuous delivery. One of the beauties of this role is that you have the choice of whether to be office based or work from home WHENEVER YOU LIKE. As Senior Java Developer you will be expected to be the main point of call for projects, mentoring junior members of the team and be efficient with off-shore tools such as Skype and Slack. What my client are looking for most are developers who are proud to put their name on their work ensuring quality over quantity.

Key responsibilities:

* Mentoring Junior Members of the team through projects and code reviews.

* Design, develop and maintain services with focus on efficiency, scalability and stability.

* Code using primarily Java, teaming up with other departments to bounce ideas off each other.

* Maintain and improve overall quality of their products.

Requirements

Must haves:

* Have experience in working in an agile environment.

* Experience in mentoring developers.

* Solid understanding of object oriented design, and design patterns such as MVC.

* Experience designing, implementing and supporting highly scalable web applications in Java.

* Not be intimated by large responsibility.

* (HTTP, REST); XML, XSLT and XPath.

* Experience with automated testing methodologies and frameworks, such as Junit

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* A real passion for software development and a commitment to delivering a great user experience.

* An infections appetite for learning new skills and constantly improving existing ones.

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Nice to haves:

* noSQL databases.

* Git, Gradle, Node.js, AngularJS, Bamboo, Jira.

* Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, SES, SQS, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, CloudSearch).

* Domain Driven Design (DDD);

* Knowledge of Continuous Delivery practices and principles.
