Based in London Piccadilly Circus

Permanent role : salary £60,000- £80,000

Requirements : strengths as a javascript developer, expertise in UX, and UI design alongside superb front end development skills

This Hedge Fund is currently looking for a Javascript Developer to join the business to build out the UI for a risk and analytics system across all lines of business including Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income and Credit Derivatives.

The portfolio managers within the business are very technical, and have been building their own solutions for some time, but they are now looking to hire a permanent Javascript developer to take ownership of the UI, bringing it up to date with the latest frameworks/methodologies.

The aim ultimately will be to get the system to such a point that they can begin to harness artificial intelligence for more automated trading and you will focus on creating an intuitive, easy to use and innovative UI with full ownership over this. Key skills

* Commercial Javascript development experience and ideally knowledge of the latest frameworks such as Angular/Angular 2

* Some HTML and CSS may be necessary but not essential

* Cloud experience would be beneficial but not essential

* The ability to build intuitive, easy to use and elegant UI's - this system will be rolled out across the rest of the business and will potentially be packaged up as a product so it will need to look and feel good

The role is located in West London

Salary will be up to circa £80,000 per annum, with a strong bonus culture & bens package including pension/healthcare etc

As the first UI/Javascript developer you will develop and ideally progress onto owning the UI for this system, hiring beneath you and would be responsible for rolling this out across other business areas Working closely with the c-level portfolio managers to build out this platform you will be given responsibility to take ownership over this system from very early on, taking ownership over the UI development and working closely with a Python specialist to create an innovative platform that will help generate new revenue for the business.

This role is for a front end JavaScript developer with HTML, and CSS with good UX and UI Design and development skills. You will need to bring your JavaScript expertise, but as you will have a lot of ownership and responsibility to design the new system, you will be able to bring what you believe s the best tool for the job. It will thus be a combination of UX and UI Design alongside your core development skills

You will have your own freedom with this JavaScript development, but with this comes the responsibility to actually understand how to create very complex, very responsive user interfaces

You will need to know how you actually release software, as well as having ownership of your own development, testing and support
