Make sure our £multi-million change programmes get outstanding governance.

The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. Our vision is to be recognised as a provider of a world-class service for the protection of nuclear material and facilities. Given the critical nature of our work, it’s vital that we recruit skilled and committed professionals to our high-performing team. As our Governance & Assurance Manager within the Programme Office, you’ll ensure robust governance is in place for a number of crucial change programmes.

To help the CNC grow and develop, we’ve launched a series of change initiatives with a budget of over £10m. The success of these programmes and projects relies on effective systems of governance. Your task is to provide our Executive with expert assurance. You’ll organise reviews and report back with updates and advice, drawing on your knowledge of programmes and projects in diverse business environments. You’ll also define and develop governance arrangements (i.e. the framework, strategies, policies, controls and constraints). It’s a chance to work at all levels within CNC and with the Head of Programme Office.

This is a great opportunity to tackle a challenging and interesting workload. To make the grade,

you must be an accredited Gateway Reviewer (or have equivalent experience). We’re also looking for relevant qualifications in both portfolio and project management: for example MoP or MSP and APMP, Prince 2 or similar. These credentials should come with a solid track record in programme, benefit and portfolio management. Experience of planning, financial management and change control will be essential.

Used to working at senior, strategic levels, you’re articulate, persuasive and able to influence key stakeholders. You’re also analytical and a strong strategic thinker - motivated, proactive and up to speed on best practice.
