An excellent opportunity has become available at the University for an Assistant Learning Technologist with excellent Microsoft Office skills, an understanding of VLE systems (preferably Moodle) and a basic working knowledge of educational IT/AV systems and video editing.

Job Role

You will have a leading role in the digital delivery of medical educational material to the next generation of doctors and involvement in the development and rollout of a document collaboration and management system that will automate the process of producing documents to meet the requirements of our quality systems.

While the role starts as a junior position you should expect your role to become more senior as you undertake new tasks, your experience grows and the role has a positive effect of enhancing the students learning experience and making your work colleagues more productive.

Your day to day role will include: The promotion of the intelligent use of learning technology by students and educators, produce VLE content, support to students and educators using VLE, IT, Audio Visual and other technologies, provide training to students, staff and tutors on the use of learning technologies, constantly plan the improvement of delivering digital learning and keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in order to promote learning solutions that are current, efficient and enhance the learning experience.

The Candidate

* To apply you should have a degree or relevant professional qualification at graduate level and an interest in working in a dynamic educational and research environment.

* They will also consider a newly qualified candidate with good A level (or equivalent) education (Computer Science and/or Maths).

* A desire to learn or experience in web designdevelopment will also increase your suitability for this position so that you can participate in further developments of our learning systems.
