Linux System Admin

The Linux System Admin position has been created in the E-Commerce Technology Support team in a leading Investment Bank, based in the City of London. The position is within the Platform UNIX team and will work alongside the application and development teams, globally.

The Linux System Admin is a senior role and will take the responsibility of providing 2nd/3rd line BAU Unix/Linux support to the business line, working closely with Bank-wide infrastructure teams to improve service offering. It will be your responsibility to improve automation and own through to implementation.

The Linux System Admin will require you to have very strong knowledge of Linux/Unix in order to provide full infrastructure and application support to The Bank. Electronic trading experience in one or more asset classes is a necessity as is good knowledge of an enterprise class monitoring product. Ansible is the automation engine used and an understanding of how it operates will be an added bonus alongside shell scripting and Python/Perl.

This position requires an individual who is able to work independently and as part of a team, communication skills are key. You must be confident with translating deliverables to stakeholders at all levels and be innovative to come up with your own ideas to drive the projects, when necessary.
