Senior HR Officer

Based in Hertfordshire

A rare and exciting opportunity has become available in the Hertfordshire area for a Senior HR Officer to join a well established team.

The Senior HR Officer must be self motivated, hands-on, flexible and professional. The Senior HR Officer will be required to provide HR expertise to both fee earning and support functions, including audits/Accounts, Tax, Trusts, Financial services, Marketing, IT and maintenance teams.

The Senior HR Officer must be CIPD qualified with a positive can-do attitude and ideally have experience working with a HRIS and psychometrics.

Main duties of the Senior HR Officer

* To act as the number two in the department providing support to the Head of HR

* Helping to develop the HR Officer

* Recruitment of staff (excluding admin/support level)

* Relationship-building with key recruitment agencies

* Dealing sensitively with Employee Relations issues

* TUPE and assistance with major projects

* Carrying out capability and disciplinary investigations

* Carrying out redundancy

* Responsible for Maternity & Paternity meetings

* Responsible for absence management including sending emails, holding meetings with staff with BI scores over the trigger point & keeping managers informed along with the other HR Officer

* Reporting daily on all activity to the Head of HR

* Trainee recruitment - the running of this will be the Senior HR Officer's responsibility. Ensuring that all the assessment days are coordinated properly, creating shortlists and meaningful reports. Carrying out telephone first interviews and running the assessment days.

Other duties of the Senior HR Officer

* Payroll administration for the fields listed above

* Oversee Childcare vouchers scheme (for M&H and any external clients)

* Assistance with development of the HR team and function

* Charge out rates

* Healthcare - responsible for liaising with the Senior Partner & MHFP each year at renewal time and throughout the year dealing with claims/new joiners etc

* Training budget

* Bank holiday adjustments

* Staff situation report

* Exit interviews

* Organising staff events

* Ad hoc work for external clients including psychometric profile analysis

* VPM timesheet analysis/checks and reports

* Death in Service

The Senior HR officer will ideally be proficient in MS Office and have significant experience at Officer level.
