Senior IT Business Partner / Relationship Manager / Construction

As a Senior IT Business Partner you’ll be responsible for serving as a trusted advisor and strategic interface with key stakeholders in your assigned business units or functional areas for relationship management, business technology strategy development and risk management.

As a Senior IT Business Partner you’ll be responsible for serving as a trusted advisor and strategic interface with key stakeholders in your assigned business units or functional areas for relationship management, business technology strategy development and risk management.

IT, an important, enabling function at the heart of the company is part way through an overall transformation programme to further meet the needs of the business and significant business growth. An opportunity for a Senior IT Business Partner or Business Relationship Manager has arisen to join the IT Business Partner team. The team works at a senior level with all business units and stakeholders, as a primary point of contact providing lines of engagement from key areas in IT; ensuring an effective service to the business.

Reporting to the Lead IT Business Partner you will:

- engage and build relationships with your key stakeholders in assigned OUs, furthering the understanding of the value IT can bring for operational efficiency.

- provide input into decision making; high level scoping, analysis and solution design:

- assist with budget planning, project estimating for cost benefits analysis; highlighting risks and issues;

- work with IT teams facilitating responses and ensuring IT delivery against specific solutions and broader service objectives.

An interesting and challenging role, you’ll need an absolute commitment to customer service, a full understanding of business strategies and how to create aligned IT portfolios and ensure an optimal service. You will work across your assigned business units or functional areas; with the CIO and Lead IT Business Partner, the PMO, Project Managers and peers across IT, influencing JV partners and 3rd party vendors. This is an ideal time to join the company to add value to the business and further grow and develop the IT business partner team.

Graduate calibre with a degree and/or business qualifications, you should have:

- significant IT experience, recently in an effective Business relationship or partnering role in a large programme environment.

- Broad Construction industry experience is a must.

- Experience of determining need, documenting requirements and knowledge of how to deliver services against a business strategy.

- Excellent commercial skills are a must along with financial knowledge to prepare business cases, budgets and forecasts.

Softer skills will include proven stakeholder management skills, gravitas and credibility to work at all levels, with strong written and spoken communication skills. He/she will be collaborative with an analytical and methodical approach, a strong sense of delivery; able to manage expectations, shape and influence outcomes. Team management experience will be valuable.
