Role No:

Core Purpose of the Role:

Joining my clients Digital & Transformation team as Project Manager, you'll work collaboratively across our business, improving our expertise by helping our multi-disciplinary teams deliver complex technical E2E change projects of value in excess of £2million.

Working collaboratively with Architects, Developers and Engineers and engaging with senior stakeholders to Director level, you'll help shape the direction of the project; prepare and present key decisions for approval articulating trade-offs between scope, solution, customer and operational impacts so key to your success will be your strong commercial and cost awareness plus personal budget responsibility of significant value.

Accountabilities:

?Leading a multi-disciplinary team of 15 to 20 people to deliver new propositions which are underpinned by disruptive digital technologies and will increase customer engagement with the Bank and utilisation of its services across device & channel

?Engaging stakeholders at Director and Head of Function level and typically across 2 to 3 business units to shape the outcome and how this will be delivered. An excellent orator able to clearly articulate trade-offs that consider scope, solution, customer and organisation taking people on a journey to reach your recommendation and anticipating areas of concern

?Managing the integration of complex IT systems, often engaging between 2-4 teams outside of your control that move at a different pace and have a different delivery model. Skilled at bringing together moving parts across the organisation to form a robust and cohesive delivery

?Leading from within the team, creating an environment whereby the team have a clear understanding of the business drivers, work collaboratively together, understand their strengths and weaknesses and collectively overcome obstacles

?Bringing the team together to make a commitment to a project stage, creating robust plans, managing dependencies, determining a clear critical path that has considered different planning scenarios

?Ensuring the team consider cost and benefit drivers and identify opportunities to drive value through creation of a minimal viable product; manage the project to cost maximising business value

?Effective risk management that is able to assess macro risk exposure of delivery rather than carrying out administration of short term non-substantive items. Key to this is proactively driving out uncertainty (particularly in the early stages of the projects), building this into the DNA of the delivery, defining meaningful statements of impact, clear treatment strategies and ensuring that the aggregate risk profile informs the project outlook.

?Ensuring that the project remains within governance in terms of scope, cost, time and quality, exercising project controls and reporting progress to key stakeholders.

?Rigorously managing a project budget between £2-4m including forecasting the complete project costs, minimising monthly variances and ensuring that cost reflects the true profile of the project

?Understanding the context in which the project is delivering and anticipating challenges or blockers that may impede the team or identifying opportunities to join things up across the organisation to drive efficiency

?Using innovative solutions to over-overcome obstacles to delivery and drive through resolution by making recommendations based on logical assessment criteria, supported by empirical data points

?Identifying areas for improvement in the way that we deliver change to customers and driving adoption of this outside of your own team.

Experience required:

?Excellent knowledge of project management disciplines, standards and processes in a large and complex programme environment with multiple delivery partners.

?Managing projects with many moving parts or multiple assignments; good organisational and multi-tasking is a must as is the ability to making rigorous decisions at pace.

?Showing relentless commitment to succeed and on occasion, resilience when under pressure or facing adversity.

?Extensive stakeholder management experience; able to identify key players in delivering the business outcome and to ensure that their needs are fully represented.

?Transforming or improving the way change is delivered, you will have taken ownership beyond your own assignment or area to make a difference and drive a better outcome for the organisation and customer.

?A good understanding of retail banking processes and distribution channels would be desirable but not essential.
