Fabrication ManagerOur client is a well-established engineering company based in Battle who specialise in fabrication, welding, and electrical control systems. A vacancy has arisen for a Fabrication Manager to join their busy fabrication workshop.The ideal Fabrication Manager will be highly motivated individual who has previous engineering experience and knowledge. As a Fabrication Manager you will be managing and leading the fabrication team to ensure programme is maintained and quality standards remain high.The ideal Fabrication Manager will hold the following skills and experiences:

'€¢Previous engineering and management experience and knowledge'€¢Knowledge of ISO 9001 and BS:EN 1090'€¢Ability to read technical drawings'€¢Experience in dealing with difficult situations'€¢IT Literate with a good understanding of Microsoft package'€¢Have a ‘can do' attitude'€¢Possess excellent organisational skills'€¢Have excellent communication skills'€¢Be a team player

Your duties are a Fabrication Manager will include:

'€¢Managing and leading the fabrication team to ensure programme is maintained and quality standards are kept high'€¢Responsibility of keeping discipline within the team'€¢Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan'€¢Meeting any invoice or workload targets that are set by the Operations department'€¢Using and helping to manage the company's job database to ensure information is processed quickly and efficiently'€¢Ensuring adequate time is allocated to the project to ensure a realistic and ‘safe' timeframe for the work plan'€¢Recording and managing team and production issues and escalating where necessary with the Operations Manager'€¢Monitoring project progress and performance, and updating the Operations Manager in regular reporting meetings'€¢Resource planning to ensure the correct number of required operatives and correct personnel are appointed to the works schedule'€¢ISO 9001 and BS:EN 1090 documentation control'€¢Management and control all documentation within job packs, including checking incoming and outgoing documents'€¢Ensuring full drawing control and drawing documentation is upheld at all times in accordance with BS:EN 1090'€¢Communicating and implementing HSE guidance and the company's safety policies and procedures for the fabrication workshop'€¢The ordering of specific materials, management of deliveries and the deadlines of goods ordered'€¢Liaising with team leaders on site, to help resolve and report issues'€¢Random site visits to Team Leaders to allow a closer eye on installations'€¢Ensuring all Team Leaders and Fabrication team members are technically trained and competent to complete all tasks given'€¢Attending site and customer meetings as appropriate'€¢Manage and maintain a stock-control system for fabrication materials and consumables'€¢Ensuring that the workshop is kept clean, clear, safe and tidy
