UX Designer-User Research, Key Performance Indicators - £350-450 (Outside IR35)-3 MONTHS - Edinburgh
The Company:
Spring Technology's public sector client is looking for an experienced UX Designer that will help establish user research that results in clear guidance and support for the development teams to implement usable systems for internal and external users.
The Role:
The client is looking for a forward thinking individual who will work comfortably within a team environment on current and new projects requiring the following skills.
Responsibilities include:
*Involved in ensuring that the system touch-points during a customers' life-time are part of a coherent, consistent experience
*Helping to define, implement and improve upon Key Performance Indicators that lead directly to tangible improved business outcomes through enhanced user experience
*Ensuring that usability testing is undertaken frequently, economically with appropriate users and measures as part of the development cycle
*Creating high & low fidelity prototypes and design patterns that bring the digital programme vision to life, complete with customer journeys
*Be involved in establishing clear design principles that internal and third-party delivery teams can follow that ensure the systems designed are
oMeet the user need
oAre simple to use
oAre accessible to all users
oAre consistent to Scottish Government DPS standards
oAre platform independent
*Delivering UX feedback to Agile delivery teams to compliment sprint cycles
*Where required, work as part of a multi-disciplined team to design user focussed and successful services
*Support the UX community within the IT department
Build relationships and working effectively with external parties, for example legal firms, lenders, citizens, and Scottish Government
Essential Experience:
-Experience of user research and analysis, both qualitative and quantitative, to establish baselines and monitor on-going trends or improvements
-Demonstrates expertise designing interactions professionally for the public via the web & mobile as well as internal users, i.e. back-office operations Core skills: sketching, design production, rapid prototyping
-Experience of working with user experience practices, such as UX labs, mobile UX testing and preparing design guidelines
-Knowledge of accessibility standards
-Experience of user experience within large scale digital delivery programme with proven results that are traceable to user experience interventions
-Experience working within an agile, multi-disciplinary team environment, using lean UX techniques, and ability to deliver iterative design components (including user journeys) to the development team
