The role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Account Manager (International Customer Support) to join a world leading Defence Target Systems organisation.
Responsibilities
You will liaise directly with customers around the world in respect of technical and sales support, and ensure that the organisation's internal activities meet customer requirements while aligning tasks with company policies and procedures.
You will be responsible for nominated customers, programmes and projects, and will engage internal resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and aligned with project requirements and objectives. During this process you will apply professional principles, practices and techniques to lead project processes while controlling cost, performance and risk.
* Maintain contact with existing customers and inform them of new or improved products and services to aid customer service.
* Act as a liaison between customers and the organisation, address and resolve technical and support issues raised or identified for the customer.
* Act as programme/project manager for designated customers and programmes/projects.
* Plan, coordinate, implement and finalise programmes/projects according to specifications and deadlines, while keeping within budget.
* Identify and initiate contact with possible future customers.
* Maintain knowledge of competitor's products and services.
* Make arrangements for and attend exhibitions to promote the organisation's products and services.
* Receive customer enquiries and prepare proposals in response.
* Review Requests for Proposal (RFPs). Liaise with Contracts Manager with regard to contractual issues, Field Services Manager with regard to services, Production Manager with regard to production requirements, Quality Manager with regard to quality requirements, and Director of Engineering with regard to design requirements.
* Generate proposals based on information gathered including pricing, contractual and time schedule requirements. Obtain authorisation and arrange submission of proposals.
* Ensure that customer complaints are dealt with swiftly in accordance with standard company procedures.
* Produce and arrange for the printing of company brochures to be used for the organisation's promotional purposes.
* Liaise with customers to arrange in-country sales and marketing visits to discuss future customer requirements and provide product presentations.
* Complete customer support visit reports, listing the itinerary of the visit and detailing any important information.
Requirements
Essential:
* IT skills (MS Office) - PowerPoint
* Experience in customer facing roles
* Ability/experience of presenting to all levels
* Experience in generating proposals
* Prepared to travel internationally for extended periods (2 weeks+ at a time)
* Team player and ability to work individually
Desirable:
* Business Development experience
* MRP system experience
* International experience
Security Clearance
The successful applicant will be required to undergo Ministry of Defence security clearance.
