The City Council provides a wide range of services to the public and the Project & Contract Management team delivers a range of capital and infrastructure projects that support the Councils strategic priorities. We are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team to be responsible for managing and facilitating a broad range of complex and high value projects to assist the Council in achieving those priorities.

Candidates must have demonstrable experience of the management and delivery of construction projects including the preparation of business cases, construction contracts, procurement, construction legislation, building design and specification, value engineering and health and safety management. Experience of delivering projects in the public sector would also be an advantage. Candidates should hold the Prince 2 qualification (foundation & practitioner).

Key activities will include:

Managing and implementing complex projects that are part of the capital programme and address priorities and objectives within the Corporate Plan.Delivering contracts and projects within the allocated budget , including forecasting and funding opportunities, ensuring value for money in accordance with the Councils financial regulations and corporate improvement priorities.Commission, procure and manage inputs to projects, involving the co-ordination of internal resources and/or the management of external consultancies, contractors, professional advisers and partner contractors.
