Job Title: Release Manager

Based at: Fixnetix Offices London Position reports to the: Head of Project Management

Job Purpose: Assist in the smooth running of internal development efforts in relation to financial trading risk software developed in software and hardware platforms. Own the Release Management Process from end to end, in charge of Release Plan and all Release documentation. You will be expected to play a varied role, with the skills to cover Release Planning, Release Engineering, Release Delivery, and Implementation.

Overview / Responsibilities

* Forward Plan the release windows and cycles across a portfolio of trading services

* Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations

* Coordinate release content and effort based on the service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates

* Communicate all key project commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes

* Works with Project Managers and BAs delivering both application and infrastructure changes to plan and build the Release Project Portfolio

* Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams including Development, QA and Operations.

* Able to manage resources at location and working remotely.

* Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews

* Weekly release reporting

* Negotiate plan and manage all release activities

* Maintain release schedule across core services and ensure alignment across key stakeholders

* Work to continually improve the release process

* Maintains release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies and notification lists.

o Maintain code branches and merges

o Maintain all requests to add content after release content cut-off

o Maintain all requests to remove content after release content cut-off

* Provide guidance on and facilitate incremental delivery.

* Single POC for both PMO/Project managers regard "how to" and governance

Specific Job Skills

Must have:

* 3+ years' experience in Release Management

* Experience of Agile, Kanban, Scrum working practices

* Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle

* Knowledge of Exchange Market Data and Trading beneficial

Desirable

* Project management experience

* ITIL Foundation or Higher

Computer / IT Skills

Must have:

* Experience in JIRA and Confluence for managing release

* Knowledge of RedHat, CentOS, FPGA

* Excellent knowledge of Project, Word, Excel, Outlook and other office applications

* Working knowledge of Visio for technical diagrams

Desirable

* Experience if IT Quality management and software and testing best practices

Communication, Literacy and Numeracy

Must have:

* Excellent written communication skills

* Excellent verbal skills, able to present to peers, customer and the business via phone or in person

* Able to take meeting minutes and provide documentation write ups

* Presentations and business documentation creation will be required.
