Hours: 20 hours per week over Monday - Friday

An IT Officer is required to join a successful live event ticketing software company, providing software, services and consultancy to festivals and venues around the world. They are the ticketing solution that drives the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, as well as other UK and international events.

As part of their ongoing relationship with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society, they are also the Society's IT service provider. The role of the IT Officer would provide day to day frontline IT support to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival Society at their offices on the Royal Mile and at various locations around Edinburgh during the Fringe Festival and other events through the year.

You will carry out day to day maintenance, administration and support, as well as acting as a point of escalation for relevant desktop support requirements.

Responsibilities include:

- Provide an initial point of contact for end user support

- Providing support through a ticketed helpdesk system (ZenDesk) - resolving issues or escalating as appropriate providing timely updates to end users

- Basic user account management - Creating user accounts, resetting passwords and providing access to shared resources, e-mail and telephony services

- Helping to provide basic IT inductions to new staff as well as supporting roll out of new software

- Resolving basic PC, printer, AV and telephone hardware issues including setting up and re-locating hardware where necessary

- Troubleshooting of end user software issues

- Installing and updating operating systems and software on end user PCs and Macs

- Upgrading of end user PC hardware

- Preparation of equipment to support off site events

- IT Support administration duties such as procurement, liaison with contractors and Inventory updating / auditing

- Monitoring IT security issues to help maintain network security and PCI:DSS compliance

- Provide Emergency Out of Hours support on a shared rota

Person Specification

Essential:

- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

- Customer focused outlook and an interest in supporting the Arts

- A calm, professional manner and the ability to form productive working relationships

- Logical approach to problem solving

- Ability to work as part of a team in a pressurised environment

- A strong interest in IT and technology

- Adaptable nature and a desire to learn new skills

- Attention to detail and ability to follow documented procedures

Desirable:

- Experience working in an IT Support Helpdesk environment using ZenDesk or Spiceworks ticketing solutions

- An IT or technology related qualification such as MOS, ECDL, MCITP or ITIL

- Knowledge of installing and supporting Windows operating systems and software -particularly Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2010/2016
