Lead the planning and implementation of all Quality Assurance activities in their programmes portfolio. Guide, advise and influence the Senior Programme Manager in all aspects of quality assurance requirements activities, continuous improvement and change management within their allocated Programmes.

Plan the technical assurance and quality assurance activities on a major programme or set of projects to assure the delivered product, system or service meets the minimum technical requirements defined in the Business case.

Liaise with key external suppliers and internal customers to ensure that products and management arrangements meet NATS requirements and industry best practice ensuring supplier activities and products meet the specified requirements.

Scope Plan and implement all quality assurance activities in their programme area to a level which demonstrates and confirms the programme and projects will deliver quality assured products, systems or services.

Diverse tasks including liaison with external assessment bodies, fostering relationships with major suppliers (and joint ventures), assessment and audits of key suppliers, qualitative assessment of project, product and process, and managing the resolution of complex technical issues.

Provide advice and guidance on quality assurance issues to all Senior Programme Managers, Project Managers, Engineering, ATC and other staff and suppliers working on allocated projects.

To work with and where appropriate challenge and influence the activities of major suppliers and partners to ensure the required quality standards are met.

To liaise with customers and key stakeholders to ensure that their requirements are understood and will be met by the project. Validation of project processes used by all project members to ensure their compliance and suitability and identify opportunities for improving effectiveness or efficiency. Assess and confirm the acceptance of products from internal and external suppliers meet the specified requirements and quality standard.

Managing issues relating to people, process or quality, including identifying the root cause, defining the solution and the planning and implementation of the corrective action to deliver a satisfactory resolution of the issue. Independent measuring and reporting of project activities to ensure that preventative actions are taken and poor quality is dealt with at the earliest opportunity.

Developing and implementing the audit schedule for the programme. Use Quality tools, techniques and methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean) to identify issues, problems or trends to their root cause and drive improvement activities to resolve them. Plan and deliver induction activities for all new project members on all aspects of Project and Quality management, project lifecycle

Qualifications and Skills

Ideally hold a Degree or have significant experience in a relevant engineering subject or equivalent. Have experience of leading the quality assurance activities on a major multi-disciplined programme or project(s), preferably with a high degree of sub-contractor control. Have significant experience in a Quality Assurance or Product Assurance role within a tech

Credibility with key contacts both within and external to the programme/project to be able to challenge, persuade and convince them of the course of action to be taken. Strong written, oral and presentational skills, with the ability to provide challenge and where necessary, influence key stakeholders at all levels in the organisation. Ability to understand complex technical problems and identify the course of action required to ensure that quality products are delivered effectively. Have sound knowledge of a typical project environment.

Credibility with key contacts both within and external to the programme/project to be able to challenge, persuade and convince them of the course of action to be taken. Strong written, oral and presentational skills, with the ability to provide challenge and where necessary, influence key stakeholders at all levels in the necessary, influence key stakeholders at all levels in the organisation. Ability to understand complex technical problems and identify the course of action required to ensure that quality products are delivered effectively. Have sound knowledge of a typical project life cycle and of the roles undertaken by key members of a project team and be able to demonstrate that knowledge to any audience The job holder must have in depth knowledge of quality tools and techniques and in particular how to use these effectively in a complex project environment. Ability to develop relationships with staff at all levels within an organisation. Ability to build relationships with suppliers, whilst retaining the ability to provide strong challenge where required.
