The job in a nutshell

As a Visual Designer, you'll delight users with designs that inspire, engage and excite them. You'll rely on user-centered design principles to produce great experiences that bring our UX outputs to life through high-quality visuals-from concept to execution-across many platforms.

Working with different teams you will create experience-oriented designs for new and existing customer facing products through online and mobile applications.

You will be passionate about interaction design, information design and user centred experiences and you will collaborate daily with a diverse set of specialists from UX professionals, information architects, project managers, writers, developers and a variety of stakeholders to deliver these digital experiences.

You will support more senior members of the team on large strategic projects, lead smaller projects and help to develop more junior team members to help them grow and develop their abilities within this discipline.

What you'll be doing

* Creating visual designs - Create the designs for one or more of Clients products across sales and service.

* Making the UI and UX intuitive - Present the user interface visually so information is easy to read, easy to understand and easy to find.

* Promoting our products - Market and promote products and features so users understand what they're getting and what the benefits are.

* Keeping everything on-brand - Create a look consistent with all of clients teams - while pleasing our users.

* Communicate effectively - Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively.

* Collaboration - Experience working in collaboration with UX Designers, Front-end Developers and Product Owners

* Building knowledge across the team - Participate in regular design reviews and other team-wide design efforts as well as help drive the understanding and importance of UI Visual Design across the organisation.

* Documenting progress - Create and share documentation of UI progress, updates and findings within the team and across the organisation.

* Working across multiple projects- Execute against multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, challenging environment and deliver strategically sound, conceptually-based, iconic experiences.

What you have done already / What you'll be good at

* Completed degree - BA/BSc degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.

* Designing online/mobile experiences- Experience designing outstanding web-based products for a consumer-oriented website.

* An appreciation of UX design- Understanding of how UI and UX coexist.

* Demonstated experience in stakeholder management - Comfortable managing expectation, challenging and presenting to stakeholders.

* Knowing the tools - A good understanding of CSS and HTML; Expert in Adobe Creative Suite or any other relevant digital design tools.

* Concept development - Excellent conceptualising skills and a keen eye for detail

* Managing your time - Must be self-motivated to prioritise and manage workload and meet critical project milestones and deadlines.

* Solving problems- Very good problem-solving skills.

* Working in teams- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build good working relationships.

* Technical understanding - Familiarity with development software and development processes.

* Passionate about the field you work in - Strong interest in the latest design, UX and technology trends.
