SC Lead Systems Engineer

Duration: Initial 3 Months

Location: Boscombe/Malvern/Farnborough

Rate: £450 - £500

Clearance: SC Clearance - Due to the nature of the project and timescales involved candidates must hold active SC Clearance in the first instance.

My client is currently seeking 2x Lead Systems Engineers to join them on an initial 3 month contract basis. These positions can be based at either Boscombe, Malvern or Farnborough. The successful candidate will be Working in a Project Team(s) as the Lead Systems Engineer responsible application of good Systems Engineering principles and coordination of all Technical/Engineering effort to deliver the required solution.

Essential Experience / Skills:

* Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, or proven experience working in an equivalent engineering role. (Typ. Aerospace / Mechanical / Electronics / Systems Engineering, Physics)

* Intention to join appropriate professional body.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

* Requirements Engineering experience

* Understanding of the difference between Stakeholder/User Requirements, System Requirements and Design Specifications

* Broad understanding of MOD and industry standard acceptance processes

* Good negotiation and presentation skills

* Proficiency in DOORS® use

* Understanding of Information Management principles

* Solid Systems Engineering knowledge

* Experience of supporting acquisition projects

* Keeps abreast of new knowledge and developments in the field of Requirements Engineering

Key Accountabilities:

* Working closely with the Project Manager to plan and deliver (either personally or through the team) all the technical/engineering activities required to deliver the project.

* Accountable for the technical solution by using sound technical, management and leadership skills to ensure that the projects delivers to its agreed targets

* Co-ordinates the high-level engineering activities as applicable to systems.

* Addresses enterprise and lifecycle considerations, and devises and coordinates a suitable systems engineering solution integrating systems engineering and other technical and management (e.g. project management) disciplines.

* Engages with the customer and other collaborating organisations, including in the devising of plans, review of progress, the delivery of the resultant system, and any subsequent support activities.

* Employs approaches including planning/monitoring/control, multi-disciplinary systems engineering, concurrent engineering, the integration of engineering specialisms (e.g. safety), and 'soft skills' (such as team building), to ensure that safe, effective and efficient processes are applied.

* Internal and external focal point of contact for the project on all technical/engineering aspects and assurance.

* Managing the technical risk and opportunities on behalf of the project.
