Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (depending on experience)

Our Client is a successful UK medical devices business with an expanding range of complex patient monitoring and defibrillation products aimed at a growing number of international market places. Based in Basingstoke with staff and operations across several international sites, this SME has a track record of growth, penetration into new markets and is becoming a challenger against much larger, incumbent competition. Their success is based on a fast-moving and dynamic approach combined with an aggressive and ambitious product development pipeline which has quickly met and is now exceeding other market offerings.

They are looking for a Project Manager to work alongside the Director of System Engineering and Test to create plans to achieve the Company's product development objectives. Responsibilities include:

* Creating detailed planning of development projects from inception, design, testing and into production;

* Tracking and managing projects to ensure they are running to plan, are in accordance with the Company's ISO13485 quality system and budget;

* Liaising with the R & D team, operations department, regulatory department, suppliers/subcontractors to keep the development projects running smoothly and on time;

* Developing budgets for development projects;

* Reporting on progress and issues to the Director of System Engineering and Test and other senior management team members;

* Managing subcontractor development projects involving developing new or refining and enhancing existing product features;

* Ensuring the Design History File is kept up to date through the course of development projects.

Applicants will have an engineering degree (or equivalent) and a strong background in project management. In addition, applicants will have first-class analytical and problem solving skills with a dedication to maintaining high quality standards. A good technical understanding of both electronics and mechanical design along with software is essential as well as a good eye for detail. In addition, applicants will have experience managing parallel development projects which move into large scale manufacture.

The successful candidate will have exceptional interpersonal skills, be a self-starter and work well as a part of a team. He/she will be highly PC literate. Experience with medical devices, consumer electronics project management, ISO13485 and Prince2 Practitioner qualifications are desirable.
