Linux Engineer - Banking - Trading

£50-70k

One of my banking clients are currently looking for a Linux engineer to join their fixed income trading team. In this role, you will be a core part of the Linux engineering team where you will be able to implement your ideas and come up with new solutions to complex problems. As this is a role working directly with a trading team you will need to have strong communication skills and have the ability to work at a fast pace in order to solve problems that come up.

To be successful in this role you will need to have very strong Linux skills, able to script in Python or bash, understand devops / automation using puppet or ansible or chef and be able to administer or set up servers from scratch. You should also have some knowledge of networking around switching, routing, firewalls and security. If you don't have the networking side of things then you must be willing to learn and get stuck in! To add to this if you have any knowledge of VMWare this would be a huge plus!

These guys are not looking for someone with trading experience, would be nice but the main point is that you are Linux wizard! If you can talk in Linux then they can teach you the rest!

Key requirements:

- Linux

- Python or bash or shell scripting

- Automation with Chef, puppet, ansible etc

Nice to have:

- Networking with switching, routing, firewalls etc

- VMWare

If you are looking for a role where you get to work with the latest and greatest tech in a extremely collaborative and exiting environment then this could be the role for you. Please apply to Lloyd Axten at Energon People for an immediate response.
