Freelance Web Designer/Developer

The Hague, Netherlands

EUR450 - EUR550 doe

We're looking for a Web Designer for 3 month freelance contract to be based on-site in The Hague. You'll be working through an agency, directly on-site on a government project. This is an urgent project, starting on the 10th April.

The right person will have the following experience:

Experience in translating graphic designs (PSD) to HTML5 and CSS3 to style UI components

Experience with styling Bootstrap components

Expert in CSS3

Familiar with at least one of BEM/OOCSS/SMACCSS

Hands on and result driven, with an excellent eye for detail and quality (pixel perfect)

Experience with Responsive/Adaptive design Testing Tools for different screen sizes.

Experience with Cross-Browser Testing

Experience Accessibility conformance and the WCAG guidelines. e.g Making applications work with Screen Readers, keyboard navigation, etc.

Good English language skills both oral and writing

Be ready to cooperate with JS developers and introduce changes to JSX mark-up

Solid time-management and prioritization skills

Familiarity with styling React components is not necessary, but would be a plus

Experience in adapting CSS for RightToLeft interfaces would be a plus

Responsibilities

Translating PSD files to HTML5 and CSS3

Adopting best practices to produce clean, portable and maintainable CSS code

Working with the development team to integrate the HTML and styles to React components

Adaptation to all Device Screen sizes

Coordination with Corporate Identity & Common Built Service

Testing on different browsers / devices / OS

Adapting the HTML/CSS to conform to the accessibility standards & guidelines
